FAQs

Here are a few common questions — if you’re wondering about anything else, just drop me a line.

  • All illustrations are created and delivered digitally and are pixel-based. Standard print size is up to A3 at 300 dpi, depending on the style.

For larger print formats, additional treatment after completion may be required. Final high-resolution files are usually provided as JPG. TIF or PNG with transparent background are also possible. Please get in touch with me for further possibilities.

  • For portraits, sports, and figurative illustrations, I use pencils, watercolors, and ink—combined digitally in Photoshop.

My minimalistic, conceptual illustrations are created entirely in Photoshop, using custom-made brushes and textures.

  • It depends on the project’s complexity and style — from one working day up to about one week for a single illustration.

    Please note:
While minimalistic, graphic illustrations can be executed quickly, developing a strong idea often takes more time. The overall timeline also depends on how quickly feedback can be provided during the process.

    1. Sketches – Developing the idea or composition through rough sketches.

    2. Detailed drawing – Creating a precise base drawing at the final dimensions. Client approval is required before moving on.

    3. Illustration – Producing the final colored illustration.

    4. Revision – Minor adjustments (such as color changes or repositioning elements) can be made after completion.

    Please note:
Two rounds of revisions are included. Depending on the briefing, style, and complexity, some steps may be simplified or skipped — for example, if exact reference material is provided by the client, the sketch phase may not be necessary.

  • The costs depend on four factors:

    1. Style – What style are you looking for? For example, a simple black-and-white pencil drawing requires less effort than a colorful, dynamic sports illustration.

    2. Complexity – Will the illustration feature a single person on a white background, or multiple figures, elements, and a detailed background multiple people, elements, and a background exist?

    3. Usage – Where, how, and for how long will the illustration be used? There is a crucial difference between usage on a local event poster or on T-shirts for a global brand.

    4. Duration – How long will the illustration be used? Just once for a special occasion (such as a holiday postcard), or on a website for years to come?
